Transition from College to Employment

Description

This course explores the transition process from post-secondary education to employment for individuals with disabilities. This course will examine the topic of transition in relation to important legislation and recommended practices that impact the transition experience for students with disabilities in post school and adult life. The course will acquaint students with the relevant community resources for individuals in transition, including vocational rehabilitation, employment accommodations, universal design, supported employment, job carving, job placement, and job development. This course will provide opportunities for students to take an active, decision-making role to select, modify, apply, and evaluate employment supports in order to improve outcomes for students with disabilities.
