Capstone Project

All students will complete a capstone project under the direction of a faculty mentor to enable students to apply and integrate their learning throughout the degree program. The project will be executed both independently and as a team exercise by which students will create a conceptual framework and design for a new museum or related cultural initiative. Students will have the opportunity to apply their knowledge in key areas by identifying a museum-operational area of interest and formulating a collaborative plan towards realizing the project’s goals and completion. Areas of interest may include, but not be limited to: curation; education; public history; digital media; design; development and fundraising; financial and administrative issues; or visitor services. The capstone will include the development of an ePortfolio. Program permission required.
