Grant writing and program development is a skill that is necessary to enhancing and developing disability programs in nonprofit service organizations or disability access offices. This course will explore the concepts of “hard” and “soft” money, how to find outside funding, what the typical pieces of a proposal are and how to design successful applications. Various types of grants, such as local, state, federal and private foundations will be identified and students will be introduced to grant makers databases.
